Serbia takes Kosovo status to court

Serbia has argued that Kosovo’s declaration of independence was a “flagrant violation” of its territorial integrity as hearings into the legality of the province’s secession opened at a UN court.

Belgrade, which rejected Pristina’s February 2008 declaration, has called on the International Court of Justice in the Netherlands to give an “advisory opinion” on its legality.

Dusan Batakovic, Serbian ambassador to France and head of the Serbian delegation at the court, told the hearing that “Kosovo is the historic cradle of Serbia and … one of the essential pillars of its identity”.

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY

In Florida, an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days… The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, “Case dismissed!”

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, “Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays..”.

Shocking truth about AIDS exposed on World AIDS Day with “House of Numbers” un-cut footage

(NaturalNews) When Brent Leung started showcasing his groundbreaking new documentary film about AIDS, “House of Numbers” (www.HouseOfNumbers.com), he had no way to comprehend the wave of defamatory attacks that would be unleashed against him. Promoters of conventional AIDS theories (with all their vaccines and pharmaceuticals) have gone on a rampage against Leung, calling him an “AIDS denialist” — with an obvious invocation of the similar-sounding “Holocaust denialist” phrase.

The implication, of course, is that if you deny any part of conventional AIDS theories, you’re as bad as a Nazi war criminal. It’s a curious comparison, especially given that the origins of the modern pharmaceutical industry are found precisely in the Nazi regime where pharmaceutical scientists routinely conducted medical experiments on Jewish prisoners. As a fascinating matter of historical fact, the Chairman of Bayer in the 1950’s (yes, the same Bayer that makes Bayer Aspirin) was Dr. Fritz ter Meer, a convicted war criminal, who after committing crimes against humanity was sentenced to seven years in prison at the Nuremberg war trials.

The pharmaceutical industry operating today is largely a cabal of unindicted criminals who are guilty of crimes against humanity, and one of their favorite methods of multiplying their profits is to push a disease, then sell a vaccine they claim “treats” the disease. It’s the same old scam, whether we’re talking about cervical cancer, swine flu or even AIDS….

Turkish Military Planned Attacks on Christians

Senior Turkish military officers had made extensive plans to terrorize non-Muslims in Turkey. In the large Ergenekon1 scandal recently a well-planned terrorist operation was revealed. The operation which is called “Kafes Operasyonu Eylem Plani”, in English meaning “the execution of the cage – operation” was to eliminate the remaining small group of Christians living in Turkey today.

The plan was revealed when police arrested Levent Bektas, a major in the Turkish army. The evidence seized reveals more than 27 officers and senior military officers involved in the conspiracy against Christians.

In order to identify key persons among the Christians and then kill them, this terrorist network has broken into a Greek church congregation compound and stolen computers. The purpose of this was to access the congregation’s member lists.

Η Χρυσταλλού και το θαύμα του Αποστόλου Ανδρέα – Christallou and the miracle of Saint Andrew

What The Church Fathers Say about Confession

Enter into the Church and wash away your sins. For there is a hospital for sinners and not a court of law. St. John Chrysostom .

This, my son, is how you should begin your life according to God. You should continually and unceasingly call to mind all the blessings which God in His love has bestowed upon you in the past, and still bestows for the salvation of your soul. You must not let forgetfulness of evil or laziness make you grow unmindful of these many and great blessings, and so pass the rest of your life uselessly and ungratefully. For this kind of continual recollection, pricking the heart like a spur, moves it constantly to confession and humility, to thanksgiving with a contrite soul, and to all forms of sincere effort, repaying God through its virtue and holiness. In this way the heart meditates constantly and conscientiously on the words from the Psalms: “What shall I render unto the Lord for all that He hath rendered unto me?” (Ps. 115:3). .

Venerable Mark the Ascetic

From the Letter to Nicolas the Solitary .

Regarding the rest of mankind, you should pray for them unceasingly, for we can always hope that repentance may enable them to find their way to God. Give them a chance to learn from you, or, at all events, from the way you behave. Meet their animosity with mildness, their high words with humility, and their abuse with your prayers. But stand firm against their errors, and if they grow violent, be gentle instead of wanting to pay them back in their own coin. Let us show by our forbearance that we are brothers, and try to imitate the Lord by seeing which of us can put up with the most ill-usage or privation or contempt so that in this way none of the devil’s noxious weeds may take root among you, but that you rest in Jesus Christ in all sanctity and discipline of body and soul. .

Holy Hieromartyr Ignatius the Godbearer of Antioch .

The Tragedy of Oranki Monastery as Recounted by Father Dimitrie Bejan

[In Russia there are millions of martyrs, victims of Bolshevism. For instance, as narrated by Father Dimitrie Bejan, there is a very special account of many thousands of Orthodox who had been killed in such significant circumstances. This Romanian father witnessed with his own eyes the uncovering of thousands of holy relics in a prison camp on the site of an old monastery named Oranki (not knowing such details at that time), and then, in the late 1940’s, he met a Russian monk, Teodot, the only survivor and witness to that massacre of 11,000 monks and priests, a terrible event that happened at that Oranki monastery, not far away from the Volga river. In 1918, these monks had been given by the Communist's in power, 24 hours to choose between Communism and our Lord Jesus Christ. They decided in ten minutes. After that decision, for one long month, these martyrs dug their own graves while they were executed one by one, that is 300 to 500 every day.

Pregnancy hormones trigger the production of a protective protein that blocks breast cancer growth

By David Derbyshire
Last updated at 9:50 AM on 25th November 2009

A chemical produced naturally in women’s bodies during pregnancy offers hope as a powerful breast cancer drug, scientists say.
Alph-fetoprotein, or AFP, seems to halt the growth of existing tumours and prevent new ones from appearing, a study found.
Although experts stress the findings need to be repeated in human tests, they believe the molecule could eventually be converted into a breast cancer drug.

The tongue

By V. Fr. George Passias

What part of our body is so important that if we could learn to control just that one part that perhaps as the scriptures say, we could be considered to be a perfect person? What part of our body is it that in a moment’s notice can either establish us in the presence of the saints or abruptly remove us from any semblance of holiness? What part of the body of the person is essentially the door to the soul? When it opens, it exposes the truths, the existence, the pulse and the texture of the being that is within. What part of our body? What part of our body has the ability to kill or to raise-up, to destroy or to build, to heal or to wound, to make whole or to make lame, to love or to hate, to distress or to comfort, to teach or to blind, to give life or to bring death quickly?

Canada stops use of one batch of flu vaccine

Manitoba (Reuters) – Some Canadian provinces have stopped using a particular batch of the H1N1 flu vaccine after six people experienced severe allergic reactions, the country’s health agency said on Monday.

The Public Health Agency of Canada and vaccine manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline Plc have asked the governments of Manitoba, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Prince Edward Island — nearly half the country’s 13 provinces and territories — to stop using a batch of 172,000 doses. Signs That Swine Flu Has Peaked

By DONALD G. McNEIL Jr.

Although federal health officials decline to use the word “peaked,” the current wave of swine flu appears to have done so in the United States.

Flu activity is coming down in all regions of the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday, though it is still rising in Hawaii, Maine and some isolated areas.

The World Health Organization said Friday that there were “early signs of a peak” in much of the United States.

21 Deaths in Japan After H1N1 Vaccine

The frequency of cases of severe side effects detected in the administration of H1N1 vaccines in Japan has been higher than for seasonal flu vaccines said the Japanese Health Ministry.

68 cases of serious side effects were recorded according to a health ministry survey. Eight more deaths were reported outside the survey, bringing the death toll after vaccination to 21.

Although the victims died following vaccination, the committee argued that the vaccines were not necessarily the cause of death. The experts found that in most cases, it was highly likely that they died because the condition of their diseases worsened, they said.

ABORTION: THE ORTHODOX VIEW

Again we pray for the children of God condemned to death by the unjust judgement of men: that the Lord our God would soften the hearts of those who seek their violent destruction, and rescue those who are being led forth to the slaughter, we diligently pray Thee, O Lord, hearken and have mercy!

Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Life is a precious gift of God. It is given to us so that we, while completing our earthly course, should acquire Divine Grace, should become members “of the household of God” and spiritual “fellow citizens with the Saints” (Ephesians 2:19). It is for this reason also that the Lord has established His Holy Church. In the life of the Church, of this Kingdom of God on earth, we are already destined for blessedness, and partake of it in proportion to our piety.

But the fall of our forefathers introduced sin deeply into our life. Sin has poisoned it, has become a property of this world: that is why the Apostle John can say that “the whole world lieth in wickedness” (1 John 5:19). This evil surrounds us and lures us with particular force when the opposition to it on the part of the society around us weakens. Διαβάστε την συνέχεια του άρθρου »
