No, this was a flotilla of naval ships sailing towards Cyprus as a fully-fledged invasion force, illegally employing U.S. arms and equipment. Later, after Greek Cypriot resistance had been crushed in the north of the island, Turkish forces began to ethnically cleanse almost half of the island from its Greek population, The Turkish military employed hundreds of U.S. tanks and airplanes and 35,000 ground troops, with the result being a land grab by Turkey of 37.3% of Cyprus.

Ο επιτήδειος Αμερικανός Γερουσιαστής Michael McMahon (περιοχής Νέας Υόρκης) ο οποίος στις 4 Μαρτίου 2010 ενσυνείδητα ΚΑΤΑΨΗΦΙΣΕ την αναγνώριση της Αρμενικής Γενοκτονίας από τους Οθωμανούς Τούρκους, στις 27 Μαρτίου (τρείς εβδομάδες αργότερα) τιμήθηκε για τον «ανδρισμό» του από τους «γενοκτόνους» και εισέπραξε τα «30 αργύρια» – οικονομικής ενίσχυσης για την πολιτική του εκστρατεία.
Το γεύμα για την οικονομική ενίσχυση του εν λόγω γερουσιαστή έλαβε χώρα στο εστιατόριο “Ali Baba Terrace” και μεταξύ των 25 που παρευρέθηκαν περιλαμβανόταν και ένας αριθμός Τούρκων, μελών της διπλωματικής υπηρεσίας της Τουρκίας. ΄Ομως, όπως πληροφορούμαστε ο αριθμός όσων διαμαρτύρονταν για την συμπεριφορά του Michael McMahon υπέρ των Τούρκων, έξω από το εστιατόριο ήταν διπλάσιος. The following is a report on yesterday ‘ s 18 hour vigil and demonstration in Washington, DC to mourn the Missing Cypriots and mark the 35th anniversary of the Turkish-military invasion and continuing occupation of Cyprus. The report speaks volumes for how much the Turks fear the simple message of freedom for Cyprus and the potential strength of our victimized people. This is the third year in a row that we have come to DC armed only with cardboard signs, a few Hellenic National flags and a passionate fervor to commemorate the injustice befallen the People of the Republic of Cyprus.
